Composer and Sound Designer

 

William Bishop (aka Groovin’ Apple) (b. 1997) is a video game audio programmer, sound designer, and composer based in Austin, TX. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Composition from the University of North Texas, where he studied under Dr. Drew Schnurr, Dr. Panayiotis Kokoras, and Dr. Michael Smith, and has taken lessons from film composer Bruce Broughton. His music maintains a distinct eclectic style, pulling from both concert and electronic standards.

Will has provided sound design and audio programming for the games Ari’s Journey, Catalyst Black, and Hamster Scramble, as well as sound design for the audio script Tooth and Claw. As a composer, he has produced two albums, and provided arrangements for the Metroid fan Album Harmony of a Hunter: Returns.

Currently, William runs a YouTube channel where he makes sound design tutorials and video essays, and does freelance sound design work on games, both in the AAA and indie genres.
